This is a historic milestone for our club—and for one of Australia's fastest-growing regions.

For years, talented players from Macarthur and South West Sydney have travelled across the city to pursue opportunities at the highest level of community football.

From 2027, local footballers will have the opportunity to compete closer to home while proudly representing the region they call home.

Our inclusion recognises the Blues' strong governance, sustainable growth and unwavering commitment to developing Australian Rules Football throughout our region.

What is the SFL?

The Sydney Football League (SFL) will become New South Wales’ premier Australian Rules Football Competition from 2027.

Established following a comprehensive competition review and extensive consultation with clubs, stakeholders, partners and the AFL Commission and Executive, the SFL has been designed to elevate the standard of football across Sydney while strengthening opportunities for talent development and retention.
